Carols in the Park

Snow and Belles

Last December (2010) the community of Brentford came together to celebrate Christmas in the most wonderful way. Soul In Brentford hosted their annual Carols In The Park and invited all to join in the singing with mulled wine and mince pies. ‘We were thrilled with the event, the park looked beautiful with the twinkling lights reflecting off the snow; the team from across all the churches worked very hard, thank you!’ said Sara Ward, Event Organiser.

Around 400 people wrapped up warm to usher in the last few days before Christmas; the whole event was free from the refreshments to the light-up balloons and the goody bags. Funding from Thames Community Foundation allowed this to be a genuine gift to the community.

This year the event included a band from Brentford Free Church and special guests, The Brentford Belles, who sang acapella gospel carols. ‘We had great fun and didn’t the park look a picture.’ Said Philippa Brown of the Brentford Belles

‘Well done. It was all fabulously organised.’

This year Carols in the Park will be on Wednesday 21st December, 2011, 6.30-7.30pm at St Paul’s Rec, Brentford.
